Streamline your accounting workflow with Pemo in three simple stages. Each stage is designed with clear steps to guide you through the process:
1️⃣ Connect Pemo to Zohobooks & Activate Pemo Copilot Start by syncing Pemo with your Zohobooks account to ensure your expenses, categories, and vendors are seamlessly integrated. Use AI-powered Pemo Copilot for effortless categorization.
2️⃣ Review and Organize Your Expenses Head to Pemo’s "Accounting Export" page to review and organize your expenses. Fine-tune categorizations made by Copilot, mark expenses as ready, and use time-saving bulk actions. If you didn’t activate Copilot earlier, you can set it up now.
3️⃣ Export with One Click Once everything is categorized and reviewed, export your expenses directly to Zohobooks in just one click—saving you time and ensuring accuracy.
Ready to dive in? Let’s break down each stage in detail!
Navigate to "Accounting Export" from the left navigation menu, then select “Card expenses”
Select your accounting system from the dropdown list, So here we pick "Zoho Books" from the list, then click on "Get started"
You’ll be redirected to Zoho Books Authorization Page; fill in your Zoho Books account’s username and password
If the screen above is not visible to you, it means you are currently signed in to Zoho Books. Kindly navigate to https://www.zoho.com/books/ in your web browser and verify that you are logged into the appropriate account. Alternatively, you can log out and return to step 1 to sign in using the correct credentials.
Click on Accept to grant consent for Pemo so it can get your Accounting Fields/Push expenses
Select the company (Zoho Account) you want to connect to Pemo.
Wondering why you have more than one company/account on Zoho? You can see your organizations in Zoho; log in to your Zoho Books account, then click on your company name on the top right and you will see all your Organizations listed
If you don’t have a payment account dedicated for Pemo wallet, you can create one directly from within Pemo.
While Pemo is preparing your Accounting Setup, you’ll see a loader. Once your data is fetched, you’ll see Complete Accounting Setup; click the Complete Setup button.
Once you've connected your accounting software to Pemo can activate Pemo Copilot, meaning your expenses will be auto categorized using AI.
After you've activated Copilot details like your Chart of Account, Vendor & VAT will be automatically categorized safing you time and ensuring accurcay.
Pemo’s "Accounting Export" page acts as your to-do list, displaying only settled expenses ready for review. Authorized but unsettled expenses won’t appear because their billing amounts might still change or bounce back.
Expense Statuses: Key Categories
Incomplete: Missing required accounting fields.
Complete: All required fields are filled.
Ready for Export: Expenses reviewed and confirmed by finance teams, ensuring you avoid duplicate work.
After you've activated Copilot details like your Chart of Account, Vendor & VAT will be automatically categorized saving you time and ensuring accurcay. You can also easily view and edit any fields that have been filled in by Pemo Copilot.
Bulk Actions for Efficiency
We’ve made it easy for accounting teams to categorize multiple expenses at once. Here’s how:
Categorize transactions in bulk, e.g., all transactions from a vendor like Careem
Select all expenses by clicking the arrow button and either mark completed expenses as "Ready for Export" or select edit to assign fields like Account, Vendor, VAT, etc.
Use bulk actions to edit and assign fields like Account, Vendor, VAT, etc.
If you didn't activate Pemo Copilot as part of your initial set-up you can do it at this stage too.
Get Contextual Information
For teams that prefer reviewing expenses individually, our streamlined workflow makes the process quick and efficient:
View essential details, like receipts and information, side by side.
Seamlessly switch between expenses without closing the detail page.
Once expenses are categorized and marked as ready, exporting them is effortless. After a successful export, the expenses disappear from the table but remain accessible in the History section as a CSV file.
How to Export Expenses
Mark your expense as ready and click the "Export" button on the right to export your expenses.
To find previously exported expenses, click the "History" button and download them in CSV format.
