Simplify your accounting workflow with Pemo in three straightforward steps. Each step is designed to seamlessly integrate with QuickBooks and save you time:

1️⃣ Sync Pemo with QuickBooks & Activate Pemo Copilot Easily connect Pemo to your QuickBooks account to sync expenses, categories, and vendors automatically. Let Pemo Copilot’s AI handle categorization, so you don’t have to.

2️⃣ Review and Prepare Your Expenses Visit Pemo’s "Accounting Export" page to review your expenses. Make quick edits to Copilot’s categorizations, mark expenses as ready, and use bulk actions for even greater efficiency. Haven’t set up Copilot yet? You can do it during this step.

3️⃣ Export to QuickBooks with One Click When everything is finalized, export your expenses directly to QuickBooks in just one click. Save time and ensure accuracy every step of the way.

Ready to get started? Let’s walk through each step in more detail!

1️⃣ Sync Pemo with QuickBooks & Activate Pemo Copilot

  1. Head to " Accounting Export" from the left navigation menu, then select “Card Expenses”

  2. From the dropdown list select "Quickbooks", then click on "Get started”

  1. You’ll be redirected to Quickbooks login page; here fill in your Quickbooks account’s username and password

  1. Once you’ve logged in, you’ll need to grant Pemo access. This step allows us to sync your accounting fields and seamlessly push expenses, ensuring the integration is fully set up.

  2. After you agree, Pemo will begin syncing data from your account. Once the sync is complete, simply select the "Payment account" to finalize your accounting setup.

Pemo Power Tip: If you haven’t set up a dedicated Payment Account for Pemo in Quickbooks yet, you can easily create one right in the same field. Just enter your preferred name for the new account and click "Confirm." We’ve streamlined the process, making it simple to set up the account you need.

Note that any created bank account in Pemo will have the default currency of the organization.

You’re all set and your Pemo account is ready to be synced with your Quickbooks account!

Once you've connected your accounting software to Pemo can activate Pemo Copilot, meaning your expenses will be auto categorized using AI.

After you've activated Copilot details like your Chart of Account, Vendor & VAT will be automatically categorized saving you time and ensuring accuracy.

2️⃣ Review and Prepare Your Expenses

Pemo’s "Accounting Export" page acts as your to-do list, displaying only settled expenses ready for review. Authorized but unsettled expenses won’t appear because their billing amounts might still change or bounce back.

Expense Statuses: Key Categories

  1. Incomplete: Missing required accounting fields.

  2. Complete: All required fields are filled.

  3. Ready for Export: Expenses reviewed and confirmed by finance teams, ensuring you avoid duplicate work.

After you've activated Copilot details like your Chart of Account, Vendor & VAT will be automatically categorized saving you time and ensuring accurcay. You can also easily view and edit any fields that have been filled in by Pemo Copilot.

Bulk Actions for Efficiency

We’ve made it easy for accounting teams to categorize multiple expenses at once. Here’s how:

  • Categorize transactions in bulk, e.g., all transactions from a vendor like Careem

  • Select all expenses by clicking the arrow button and either mark completed expenses as "Ready for Export" or select edit to assign fields like Account, Vendor, VAT, etc.

  • Use bulk actions to edit and assign fields like Account, Vendor, VAT, etc.

If you didn't activate Pemo Copilot as part of your initial set-up you can do it at this stage too.

Get Contextual Information

For teams that prefer reviewing expenses individually, our streamlined workflow makes the process quick and efficient:

  • View essential details, like receipts and information, side by side.

  • Seamlessly switch between expenses without closing the detail page.

3️⃣ Export to QuickBooks with One Click

Once expenses are categorized and marked as ready, exporting them is effortless. After a successful export, the expenses disappear from the table but remain accessible in the History section as a CSV file.

How to Export Expenses

  1. Mark your expense as ready and click the "Export" button on the right to export your expenses.

To find previously exported expenses, click the "History" button and download them in CSV format.
