Pay a bill or mark it as paid

Once a bill is approved, you choose how it's paid. Pay it with Pemo from your Business Bank Account, or mark it as paid if you've already paid it another way. You can do either for one bill or several.

Before you start

  • Who: a team member with AP Clerk access.

  • Where: web or mobile app.

  • Set up first: the bill is approved, and the vendor has bank details. See Add a vendor.

Pay with Pemo

  1. In the left sidebar, select More → Bills → To pay.

  2. Open the bill and select Pay with Pemo, or select several bills and choose Pay with Pemo for all of them.

  3. Pemo checks the payment with the bank and shows the fees and your available balance. Remove any bill marked Cannot be processed.

  4. Leave the send date as Now, once authorized, or select Change to pick a date.

  5. Select Request Authorization.

A payment with a send date goes out at 07:00 UAE time on that day, or the next business day if it falls on a weekend or holiday.

⚠️ There's no maximum amount on a bill payment with Pemo. Payments up to AED 50,000 usually go by instant transfer and arrive within minutes during business hours (fee AED 0.50), while payments above AED 50,000 go by standard UAE transfer (fee AED 1.05). Fees are VAT inclusive.

Mark as paid

Use this for a bill you paid outside Pemo.

  1. In the left sidebar, select More → Bills → To pay, then select the bills and choose Mark as paid.

  2. Enter the Paid on date and select Yes.

The bill moves to All as Paid outside Pemo. No payment is made, and you can't change this later.

Good to know

Pemo pays in AED to UAE bank accounts only.

Bill payments made with Pemo are exported to your accounting software (QuickBooks, Zoho Books or Xero) with the bill.

What happens next

A bill paid with Pemo moves to In authorization, and your POA is asked to authorize it. See Authorize bill payments.
