Replaces the live article "How to add a vendor for bill payments" (17575130) and moves it to the Bill Payment collection.
Every bill is paid to a vendor, and Pemo pays to the bank details saved on that vendor. You can add a vendor four ways: while you review a bill, one at a time, from a CSV file, or from your accounting system. The most common is while reviewing a bill.
Before you start
Who: a team member with AP Clerk access, a Super Admin or an Admin.
Where: web only.
Set up first: AP Clerk access. See [Give a team member AP Clerk access].
Add a vendor while reviewing a bill
Open the bill in More → Bills → To review.
Under Vendor, select New Vendor. The name, TRN and address fill in from the bill.
Add the Payment details, then save.
Add one vendor
In the sidebar, select Accounting export → Settings → Vendors.
Select Create Vendor, fill in Vendor details and Payment details, then save.
Import vendors from a CSV
In Accounting export → Settings → Vendors, select ⋮ → Import Vendors CSV. The template includes TRN. See [How to import your Vendors to Pemo].
Bring vendors from your accounting system
With an online accounting integration, vendor names and TRNs sync between Pemo and your accounting system. Bank details stay in Pemo only, so add them to each vendor before paying. Smart Vendor Creation can also suggest vendors for you. See [Smart Vendor Creation].
Getting the bank details right
Pemo checks the IBAN with the bank and shows the account holder's name.
With an IBAN, the beneficiary name and SWIFT are required.
A saved IBAN can be replaced but not removed.
A vendor without bank details can be approved but not paid.
