Once your Pemo-Zoho Books integration is connected, you can push expenses into Zoho Books with one click. Pemo sends full details, including receipts, VAT, and the exchange rate of each foreign currency expense. Zoho Books has no Multi-currency export setting to turn on: the exchange rate is always sent.
What’s required for export
Complete the one-time setup in Zoho Books and Pemo before exporting. You can prepare an expense while information is missing, but you cannot export it until it is complete.
In Zoho Books, set the default Payment Account to Pemo Wallet in accounting settings. Enable VAT, confirm your tax codes, and create vendors, such as Slack, so Pemo vendors map cleanly.
In Pemo, add a Chart of Account and a Vendor / Contact to each card transaction expense. Without these, the expense remains incomplete in your export to-do list.
How to export purchase transactions without fees
You can select and prepare expenses from Accounting Export → Transactions, but you cannot export them until you mark them as ready.
Go to Accounting Export → Transactions in Pemo.
Select the expenses you want to export.
Mark the expenses as ready.
Click Export.
The exported transaction appears under Expenses or Banking → Paid Through (Pemo Wallet) in Zoho Books.
Pemo sends the following details:
Field | Exported detail |
Amount | Amount, currency, and exchange rate |
Date | Transaction authorization date |
Paid Through | Pemo Wallet |
Vendor | The vendor set in Pemo |
Memo | Appears as Notes in Zoho Books |
Reference | Reference ID |
Tax | VAT or tax code based on your settings |
Additional fields | Customer, Project, Tags, and Custom fields when set in Pemo |
Zoho Books then applies its own VAT and reporting logic using the tax codes you’ve configured.
How to export purchase transactions with fees
When a purchase has transaction or processing fees, Pemo exports the main purchase and fee as separate expenses in Zoho Books.
Before exporting, configure the Fee account, Fee vendor, and Fee VAT under Fee Settings in Pemo.
Go to Accounting Export → Transactions.
Select the fee-bearing transactions.
Mark the transactions as ready.
Click Export.
Pemo exports one expense for the main purchase and another for the fee. The fee expense reference identifies its connection to the main expense. Its vendor, account, and VAT come from Fee Settings. The amount is shown in local currency (AED/SAR), and Paid Through is set to Pemo Wallet.
To reconcile the expenses, use the Reference ID to find the same record in Pemo and Zoho Books. Make sure the Pemo Wallet balance in Pemo matches the Paid Through balance in Zoho Books. Open the receipts from Zoho Books and confirm they’re properly attached after export.
