A salary can only be paid to a saved payroll recipient. Pemo matches each row of your salary file to a recipient by IBAN, so every employee must be added once before their first salary. You can add recipients straight from your salary file, or one at a time.
Before you start
Who: a team member with payroll access, or the POA.
Where: web only.
Set up first: payroll access. See Give a team member payroll access.
Add recipients from your salary file
Use this when you've uploaded a salary file and Pemo lists rows under Needs adding.
In the Check rows step, find the Needs adding section.
Select Add as a recipient on a row, or Add all as recipients for the whole section.
Check the details in Add recipients. Pemo checks each IBAN with the bank.
Confirm with your verification.
Add one recipient
In the left sidebar, select Accounts, then on your Business Bank Account card select Send money → Payroll.
In the Run payroll header, select Recipients, then Add recipient.
Enter the Nickname, Legal name and IBAN. Bank name and Account number fill in from the IBAN.
Select Verify and save.
Getting the details right
Enter the Legal name exactly as it appears on the employee's bank account. The salary file must use the same name.
A UAE IBAN has 23 characters and starts with AE.
Each IBAN, legal name and nickname can belong to one recipient only.
What happens next
The recipient shows as Pending approval until the POA approves them. You can create a run with a pending recipient, but it can't be authorized until they're approved. See Approve payroll recipients.
If an employee's bank account changes
A saved recipient can't be edited or removed. Add the employee again as another recipient with their updated IBAN, and use that IBAN in your salary file.
