A payroll run starts from a salary file: a CSV with one row per employee. Pemo checks every row before the run can go ahead, so getting the file right saves you fixing rows later.
Before you start
Who: a team member with payroll access, or the POA.
Where: web only.
Set up first: the employees you're paying are saved as payroll recipients. See Add payroll recipients.
Get the template
In the left sidebar, select Accounts. On your Business Bank Account card, select Send money → Payroll. In the Upload step of Run payroll, select download the template. It's a CSV with the column headings filled in.
Fill in the columns
Column | What goes in |
Name | The recipient's legal name, exactly as saved in Pemo. Only capital letters and extra spaces are ignored, so hyphens and spelling must match. English letters only. |
IBAN | The recipient's IBAN. One row per IBAN. |
Amount | The salary in AED: digits only, up to 2 decimals, no thousands separators, more than 0. |
Reference (optional) | English letters, numbers and spaces. Left blank, the row takes the run's reference. |
Limits
CSV only. Excel files aren't accepted.
Up to 200 rows and 2 MB per file.
When Pemo flags a row
After upload, the Check rows step sorts rows into Ready to pay, Needs fixing and Needs adding.
Needs adding means the IBAN isn't a saved recipient. Add them from this step. See Add payroll recipients.
Needs fixing shows the reason on the row, for example Name does not match, Invalid IBAN, Invalid amount or Duplicate row. Correct your file, then select Upload a new file.
A recipient still Pending approval doesn't stop you creating the run, but the POA must approve them before the run can be authorized.
