Until a bill payment is sent, you can change its date, cancel it, or send the bill back for review. Cancel and send back do different things, so pick the one that matches the problem.
Before you start
Who: the AP Clerk or the POA, as shown below.
Where: web or mobile app.
Cancel or send back?
Cancel when the bill is right but shouldn't be paid this way or now. The bill stays approved and returns to To pay.
Send back when something on the bill is wrong. It returns to To review, marked as sent back, and needs approval again.
Change the payment date
AP Clerk: before the POA authorizes, change the send date on the bill. The date updates in place.
POA: change the date of a payment, or pay it now, with verification. On the bill, next to Send date, select Change, then choose Send now or Schedule for later and select Save.
Cancel a payment
AP Clerk: cancel a payment waiting for authorization, or a scheduled one.
POA: cancel any payment that hasn't been sent, with verification.
Send a bill back to review
In the left sidebar, select More → Bills (or Transfers for a payment waiting for authorization), open the bill or payment and select Send back to review. Use this before the payment is sent.
What happens next
The people involved are notified, and the change is recorded on the bill's Audit trail.
