Every transfer you send from your Pemo business bank account carries a status, and the transfer's own page tells you what happened to it and what, if anything, you need to do next. This article explains what each status means and what the flags and alerts on a scheduled transfer are telling you.
Where to look: Transfers → All for the list, then select a transfer to open Transfer details. Scheduled transfers appear under Transfers → Scheduled. Transfers waiting for authorization are under To authorize.
The statuses
Scheduled: the transfer is waiting for its send date. You can still change the date, send it now, or cancel it.
Processing: the transfer has been released to the bank.
Completed: the money has left your account. Completed at and Bank reference appear on the details page.
Partially completed: some transfers in the batch went out and others did not. Open the batch and check each row.
Failed: the transfer could not be sent. The details page shows a Failure reason and an alert telling you what to fix.
Rejected: the bank or an approver did not accept the transfer.
Reversed: a completed transfer was reversed.
Cancelled: the transfer will not be sent. The details page states why under Transfer cancelled.
Why a transfer was cancelled
A transfer is cancelled either because you cancelled it or because the payment behind it changed. The reason is shown on the transfer, for example:
The linked bill payment was cancelled.
The linked authorization request was cancelled or rejected.
The payroll was cancelled or rejected.
The vendor was deactivated.
The payment was sent back and authorized again, so a new transfer replaced it.
In the last case the replacement transfer carries the live status, so check that one, not the cancelled original.
Why a transfer failed, and what to do
The alert on a failed transfer names the cause and the fix:
Insufficient funds: top up your business bank account and try again. See How to top-up your Pemo Wallet.
Invalid IBAN: the beneficiary IBAN is invalid. Check the account details and try again.
Recipient bank details not approved: approve the recipient, then pay them again.
Recipient bank details not found: add the recipient's bank details, then pay them again.
Missing vendor payment information or Incomplete vendor payment information: add or complete the vendor's payment details in Vendor management, then retry. See How to add a vendor for bill payments.
Transfer failed: something went wrong while processing. Try again, or contact support.
Flags on a scheduled transfer
A flag is a warning, not a status: the transfer is still scheduled, and you decide what to do before it sends.
Possible duplicate: it looks like a duplicate of an already scheduled transfer. View duplicate opens the other one.
IBAN mismatch: the IBAN on this transfer differs from the one saved for the account.
Payment details changed: the recipient's details were edited after the transfer was scheduled. Check them before it sends.
Fraud suspected: the IBAN on the document differs from the one saved on this recipient.
Missing payment info: the recipient has no payment details, so the transfer cannot be sent as it stands.
On hold: the transfer could not be sent. It retries automatically, then fails if the issue is not resolved.
Retries on a scheduled transfer
A scheduled transfer gets three attempts. The first two failures are recorded on the transfer as Scheduled transfer attempt failed, with Attempt 1 of 3 or Attempt 2 of 3 and It will be retried in the next daily run, so the transfer stays Scheduled. On the third failure it becomes Failed and is not retried.
The activity entry also names the stage that failed:
The bank rejected this transfer during the daily run.
This transfer couldn't be started during the daily run and was put back on schedule.
Skipped today because an earlier, higher-priority transfer didn't have enough balance, which paused the rest of your company's scheduled transfers for the day. Topping up clears the queue for the next run.
The activity trail
Every transfer keeps an activity list on its Audit trail tab, so you can see who changed what and when: Transfer initiated, Transfer scheduled, Transfer rescheduled, Transfer retried, Flags updated, Transfer completed, Transfer failed and Transfer cancelled. Changes to Amount, Scheduled date, Status and Flags are listed as fields on the entry.
