Build multi-step approval rules that mirror how your business actually signs off on bills, so the right people review the right invoices before any money moves. It's your safeguard against unauthorized or duplicate payments.
Approval policies let you control who needs to sign off on a bill before it's paid. Here's how to create one:
From your homepage, go to More, then Approval Policies.
Click the Bills tab at the top.
Click Create New.
Name your policy, for example, "Bill Approval Policy."
Add your first required approver: the Clerk. The Clerk reviews the bills in the Document Inbox, checks the extracted data, and sends the bill for approval.
Add a second step and select the Approver. The Approver reviews the bill in the workflow and can approve or challenge it before it moves forward.
Add a third step and select the POA (Payment Order Authorizer). The POA is the only role that can release payment, confirmed by SMS OTP. There's one POA per company, and changing who holds it requires legal documentation through support.
Click Create. Your multi-step bill approval policy is now created.
