Confirming it's you before a sensitive action

Some actions ask you to confirm your identity again, even though you are already logged in. Pemo does this before moving money, showing full card details or changing a card PIN.

Before you start: This applies to every role, on web and in the mobile app, whenever you take one of the actions below. Pemo needs either a phone number or an email address on your profile to send a code, or a trusted device to confirm on. If you have neither, the screen shows We can't verify it's you right now.

When you are asked

You see Confirm it's you before actions such as:

  • Authorize this transfer and Authorize these transfers: "We check it is you before moving any money."

  • Show card details: "We check it is you before showing the full card number."

  • Show card PIN and Set card PIN.

  • Authorize this deposit, Change maturity instruction, Reschedule this transfer and Cancel this transfer.

Confirming with a code

  1. Check where the code was sent. The screen shows Sent to the number ending with the last 4 digits of your phone number, or Sent to with your email address partly hidden.

  2. Type the 6-digit code.

  3. Select Confirm.

The screen shows how long the code lasts and how many attempts you have left. Select Resend code if it does not arrive. A countdown shows when you can ask again.

Confirming on your phone

  1. Select Confirm on your phone instead.

  2. Open Pemo on that phone and enter the matching number shown on screen.

  3. Approve the request. The screen shows Confirmed.

To switch back, select Use a code instead.

Why confirmation may not be available

  • This device was added recently: a newly trusted device must wait 24 hours before it can confirm high-value actions. The screen shows when it becomes available.

  • Biometric login isn't set up on this device: turn it on first. See How to enable biometrics.

  • You don't have a trusted device to approve this request: use a code, or add a trusted device.

  • Your trusted device can't receive notifications right now: check that Pemo notifications are on. See Enable Pemo notifications on iPhone (iOS) or Enable Pemo notifications on Android.

  • Add phone number: add a mobile number to your profile to verify it's you.
