Verifying a transaction we flagged as unusual

When a transaction on your Pemo card looks unusual, we ask you to confirm you made it. Until you answer, the card may be frozen, so the sooner you review it, the sooner you can keep spending.

A flagged transaction appears as an alert on the Pemo mobile app home screen and on the card, as a pending action on your web dashboard, and as a banner on the transaction itself in the Transactions tab. All of them open the same Was this you? review.

Some checks freeze the card, and the message reads Your card ending in 1234 is frozen until you confirm that you made it. Others leave the card active.

Important: any cardholder can review their own flagged transactions, and only the cardholder can answer, because the review asks whether the person who holds the card made the payment. Available on both mobile and web.

Reviewing on the mobile app

  1. Open the Pemo app. On Home, tap the alert Verify recent transaction(s), or, if the card was frozen, Card frozen - verify recent transaction(s).

  2. On Was this you?, check the Official merchant name, Country, Transaction status and Card details.

  3. Tap Yes, this was me if you made the payment, or I don't recognize this if you did not.

  4. If you have more than one flagged transaction, tap Review next and repeat.

After you confirm a transaction, you see Transaction verified as genuine and no further action is needed. If the card was frozen, it is unfrozen shortly. Don't try to unfreeze it yourself.

Reviewing on the web

  1. Sign in to Pemo on the web.

  2. On your dashboard, open the pending action Verify recent transaction(s).

  3. In the Was this you? dialog, check the transaction details, then choose Yes, this was me or I don't recognize this.

  4. Select Review next for any remaining transactions, then Done.

You can also open a flagged transaction from the Transactions tab: the transaction drawer shows the same banner and opens the same review.

If you don't recognise the transaction

Choosing I don't recognize this opens Report this as fraud?. Select Report fraud to confirm, or Go back to return to the review. What happens then:

  • We will start an investigation. You will hear back from us in 1-2 business days.

  • Your card stays as it is in the meantime. If the card is still active, freeze it if you think it was compromised. If it is already frozen, don't try to unfreeze it.

  • If fraud is confirmed, we'll terminate the card and handle the rest.

To freeze the card yourself, see How to freeze your card.

If you don't answer

We send you a reminder every 12 hours, twice. If you still haven't answered, our Support team contacts you by email and then by phone, and closes the case after 3 days. Your card is never terminated automatically: a frozen card stays frozen until you confirm the transaction or Support closes the case.
