Custom fields such as Location, Project, or Client keep the context you need attached to each transaction. These fields travel with every transaction, but they don't all appear in exports automatically. Select the fields you want, for example Pemo Document Verification, Card Label, and Transaction Status, in the custom CSV field list. Some in-app fields, such as Comments, are never exported; use Memo instead.
Add a field to your export
Go to Accounting export → Settings → Advanced fields.
Create the field. Select Create field to continue.
Name your field. Enter a clear name that will make sense in accounting files, such as Location.
Choose the field type.
Text field: Best when users should type freely. Examples include “Dubai Office,” “Warehouse 3,” and “Remote.”
Single select: Best when you want clean, consistent options, such as “Dubai,” “Abu Dhabi,” and “Riyadh.” Add the options manually or by downloading a CSV template. The template has two columns: Code and Name. Enter a number under Code and the option name under Name.
Make the field required for export if needed. Turn on Required for export. This ensures the field is completed and included every time you export.
Quick tips for clean exports
Use Single select for anything you report on monthly. Keep names short and consistent, for example avoid using both “Office Location” and “Location.” Add a helpful description so users don’t have to guess.
Common issues
The field isn’t showing in the export: Check that it’s created under Advanced fields, marked Required for export, and selected in the custom CSV field list.
Users keep entering messy values: Switch from Text to Single select and define the available options.
