Using Pemo APIs (Integrations & Exports)

Updated this week

What are Pemo APIs?

Pemo APIs let you connect Pemo to other systems and pull data out of Pemo automatically.

They’re mainly used for:

  • Integrations with custom ERP solutions

  • Automating your month-end close

  • Exporting transaction data into accounting tools

With the API, you can access:

  • All transaction data

  • Accounting and reimbursement data

  • Live balance data

Before you start

To use the API successfully, you’ll need to complete a few manual setup steps first:

  • Add your payment account

  • Import vendors

  • Import your chart of accounts

Who can use the API?

You must be on the Business+ plan to create and use API keys.

If you’re not on Business+, your Customer Success Manager will reach out to you directly.

How to create an API key

  1. Go to the Developer Portal in Pemo.

  2. Select Create API key (or Request API key).

  3. Add a name for the key (example: “Pemo Key”).

  4. Copy the API key shown on screen.

Important:

  • You’ll only see the key once.

  • The key can only be generated one time.

  • Make sure you copy it and store it somewhere safe.

Once created, the key will appear in the Developer Portal, but you won’t be able to view the key again.

Marking data as exported

After you pull transactions using the API, your system can send an acknowledgement back to Pemo.

Once acknowledged:

  • Those transactions will be marked as Exported inside Pemo.

How to delete an API key

If you no longer need a key, you can delete it anytime.

  1. Go to the Developer Portal.

  2. Find the key, then open Actions.

  3. Select Delete.

  4. Confirm the deletion.

Note: Once deleted, the key will stop working immediately.
