Control access with user roles

Updated over a week ago

User roles let you decide who can do what in Pemo. By assigning the right role to each team member, you keep sensitive data secure while giving everyone the tools they need to work efficiently.

Why Use User Roles?

  • Protect financial data by limiting access.

  • Avoid errors by giving each user only the permissions they need.

  • Simplify accounting with dedicated roles for internal and external accountants.

  • Stay in control with easy updates when team responsibilities change.

    Available Roles

  • Admin: Full access to everything in Pemo, including managing users and issuing cards.

  • Internal Accountant: Full visibility and control over company expenses and invoices, with access to manage accounting integrations.

  • External Accountant: Full visibility over expenses and invoices, but cannot manage users or issue cards.

  • Team Member: Can use their Pemo card (once verified) and manage their own out-of-pocket expenses by uploading receipts or invoices.

How to Assign or Change a User Role

  1. Go to Members and Team

    • From your dashboard, open Settings > Members and Team.

  2. Select a User

    • Find the person you want to update and click their profile.

  3. Change the Role

    • Use the dropdown menu to select the new role.

  4. Save Changes

    • The update takes effect immediately.

Best Practices

  • Limit Admin access to only a few trusted people.

  • Use Internal Accountant for your finance team and External Accountant for auditors or outsourced firms.

  • Review user roles regularly to ensure they reflect current responsibilities.

  • Remove or adjust roles promptly when employees leave or change teams.
