The rate your plan advertises is the maximum available. The rate you actually earn depends on your account's foreign exchange fee profile, so two companies on the same plan can see slightly different cashback. On Premium, around AED 20,000 in monthly international card spend earns enough cashback to cover the AED 399 monthly fee.

What spend qualifies

Cashback applies to card transactions with merchants outside the UAE, or transactions billed in a foreign currency. This covers most of the international spend a growing business runs through its cards: software subscriptions billed abroad, international suppliers, travel, and more.

Under the hood, this "international spend" rate is actually made up of two separate components that Pemo configures per account - cross-border spend (billed in AED, with an overseas merchant) and FX spend (billed in a foreign currency). Only one of the two is ever active for a given account at a time, and the combined rate is capped at 2% regardless of which component applies. You'll simply see this as a single cashback rate on your dashboard.

If your company has been on Pemo since before our Starter/Premium/Enterprise plans launched and never moved to one of the new plans, you may still be on the legacy Essential plan. Essential earns cashback specifically on corporate advertising spend (such as Google Ads and Meta) instead of the international-spend model above, at your existing rate. This is a grandfathered arrangement for existing Essential customers only; it isn't something new signups or Starter/Premium/Enterprise accounts can opt into. If you're not sure which model applies to your account, check the Cashback panel on your dashboard or ask your customer success manager.

The following don't qualify for cashback: ATM withdrawals, exchange house transfers, money transfers, wallet top-ups, internal transfers between wallets, chargebacks, disputed or unsettled transactions, and refunds.

Tracking your cashback

Your dashboard has a Cashback panel with two figures: Earnings this month, the cashback accruing from this month's spend before it's paid out, and Total Earnings, the cashback already paid into your Wallet. Tap View payouts to see a dated breakdown of every payout you've received.

When it's credited

Cashback is reviewed and credited to your Wallet within the first five business days of the following month. If your account's rate changes mid-month, the new rate is applied to that month's transactions going forward from the date of the change - but because the month isn't finalized until the 5th, a rate change made between the 1st and 5th can still affect the prior month's payout. Ask your CSM if the timing of a rate change matters for your business.

Good to know

If you booked through the Mastercard/Booking.com promotion, that cashback is paid by Booking.com directly, as Travel Credits into your Booking.com account, not into your Pemo Wallet, and can take 64+ days after checkout to appear.

Pemo Power Tip: Route your recurring international payments - ad platforms, software subscriptions, overseas suppliers - through your Pemo card. It's the easiest way to make sure nothing that qualifies slips past your cashback.
