Troubleshooting Zoho Books Connection Issues
If you’re running into issues while connecting Pemo to Zoho Books, don’t worry — most problems are quick to fix.
This guide walks you through the most common errors, why they happen, and how to resolve them.
1. Disabled Zoho Books account
If your Zoho Books account has been deactivated or disabled, Pemo can’t connect to it.
✅ Fix: Log in to Zoho Books directly and confirm your account is active before reconnecting from Pemo.
2. OAuth or authorization errors
If you see an OAuth Error or Authorization Failed message, it usually means the sign-in process didn’t complete correctly.
✅ Fix:
Double-check that you’re signed into the correct Zoho Books organization.
Try logging out of Zoho Books completely, then restart the connection from Pemo.
If the issue persists, clear your browser cache or try an incognito window.
3. Unverified Zoho Books account
If your Zoho Books account hasn’t been verified via email, the integration will fail to connect.
✅ Fix: Open your inbox, find the Zoho Books verification email, and confirm your account. Once verified, return to Pemo and try connecting again.
4. Insufficient permissions
If you’re invited to Zoho Books as an Accountant or User without admin rights, you won’t have permission to authorize the integration.
✅ Fix:
Ask your Zoho Books Admin to grant you Admin access or reconnect Pemo on your behalf.
If you manage multiple companies in Zoho, make sure you’ve selected the correct organization during setup.
5. Wrong organization selected
If your Zoho Books account includes multiple organizations, Pemo may be connected to the wrong one.
✅ Fix:
Go to Zoho Books → click your Company Name (top right).
Select the correct organization.
Return to Pemo and reconnect Zoho Books, selecting that organization during setup.
6. Missing payment account
Pemo requires a Payment Account in Zoho Books to represent your Pemo wallet.
✅ Fix:
Create a new Bank or Wallet Account in Pemo during the setup process.
Or, create one manually in Zoho Books under Bank Accounts before connecting.
7. Other connection issues
If none of the above apply, try these quick fixes:
Ensure your internet connection is stable.
Revoke and reauthorize Pemo from Zoho Books → Settings → Connected Apps.
Check that pop-ups aren’t blocked in your browser when authorizing the integration.
